A Love Letter to You from God

Steps to Peace with God               Peace with God               Finding Hope with Billy Graham

Pray the Word

"Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God."

Romans 10:17

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His Name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His Truth endures to all
generations."

Psalm 100:4-5

If you have never prayed the Word, I would like to encourage you to give it a try. As you read God’s Word put your name or the name of a loved one in the Scripture verse that states a promise concerning a need that is important to you.

Praying the Word of God aligns your thoughts with God’s thoughts on the matter. From the beginning of time, God had planned to take care of everyone’s needs. Starting with the most important need – eternal life.

      "For God so loved the world (replace "world" with your name or the name of a loved one) that He gave His one and only Son, (Jesus Christ) that whoever (replace "whoever" with your name or the name of a loved one) believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16.

This is a promise from God and He will keep His promise if we do as He has asked – believe in Jesus Christ.

      Paul, the Apostle, inspired of the Holy Spirit says to us in Philippians 4:19:
"My God shall supply "all" your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

How is our need met – through what Jesus Christ accomplished for us on the cross. Our part in receiving this promise is to believe in His accomplishments on the cross.

      1 John 3:8 tells us, "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might "destroy" the works of the devil."

And

      John 19:30 records that Jesus declared from the cross, "It is finished!"

Jesus Christ was victorious on the cross and accomplished what He had come to do. He "destroyed" the works of the devil in our lives. Our enemy, the devil, wants to bring us nothing but harm while God wants to bring us nothing but goodness. (See John 10:10). God tells us in Jeremiah 29:11, "I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jesus Christ came to earth to make it possible for us to be redeemed from the works of the devil so we could be all God planned and purposed for us to be and to do all God planned and purposed for us to do. The Word of God proclaims what God wants to do for us. We just need to trust and believe in what God has said.

Our assignment is to align our thoughts with what God’s Word has to say about what God has already provided for us and to start praising and thanking Him that His Word "will" be fulfilled in our lives.

The best way to start praying God’s Word is to go to a concordance and look up the Scripture verses that address your need or the need of a loved one and start declaring for yourself or a loved one what God has already declared about your need or situation.

God tells us in Isaish 55:11,
"... My Word that goes forth from My Mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

Numbers 23:19 says,
"God is not a human being, and He will not lie.
He is not human, and He does not change His mind.
What He says He will do, He does.
What He promises, He makes come true."

1 John 5:14-15 tells us,
"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him,
That, if we ask anything according to His Will,
He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask,
We know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."

How do we ask according to His Will – by repeating what He has already said about the situation in His Word.

If there is a condition that God says needs to be taken care of before He can fulfill His promise, be quick to meet that condition. Then trust Him to fulfill His Word at His set time and in His way. Leave everything to Him and don’t try to help Him fulfill it or tell Him how and when to fulfill it. Just keep praising and thanking Him that His Word will not return void but will accomplish what it has been sent forth to do.

"Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!"
Psalm 27:14

There is an old saying that declares ...

If God said it, that settles it!

Scriptural Assurance:

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7.

Various translations of the Bible were used when compiling this list of Scripture verses.
